Food Intolerance
Intolerance to foods can produce reactions similar to those of a food allergy. Since the cause is not an allergy, these reactions are known as pseudo-allergic reactions or food intolerance.Examples of intolerance reactions are the histamine intolerance (reaction to foods either containing or releasing histamine) or the food-additive intolerance. Included in this category of non-allergic reactions are the lactose and fructose intolerance and the gluten intolerance (celiac disease).
The purpose of the evaluations is the identification and avoidance of trigger foods as well as the avoidance of unnecessary diets. We work in close cooperation with gastroenterologists and nutritionists and use their services as indicated.
