Contact Eczema

After skin contact with a triggering substance an itchy skin irritation with redness, blisters and scaling develops. The cause can be an allergic reaction (e.g. nickel) but on the other hand it can be a non-allergic irritation due to frequent contact with skin irritating substances or water.

The suspected allergen can be tested on the patient’s back with a patch test. Existing standard tests as well as the patient’s own products can be tested. In order to test such products, the contents of the products must be declared.
