Cochlear Implant (CI)

For severely hard of hearing and deaf children and adults whose hearing aids no longer bring the desired results, an electronic device can be implanted in the cochlea. This cochlear implant transforms sound into electronic impulses which then directly stimulate the auditory nerve.

In Switzerland evaluations, treatments and follow-ups of these patients can only be carried out in named CI centers of some major hospitals. Even so an initial contact in the practice for first evaluations and to discuss further steps might be helpful.
