More and more chronic inflammatory diseases like asthma, chronic sinusitis with polyps or urticaria are treated with a new group of drugs, the biologics. Depending on the type of drug they block specific pathways in the immune system influencing chronic inflammations. Most often they must be injected on a regular basis.
